Tuesday: Rock Scrambling and Canoeing

Mrs. Cox and her fantastic group took on a day full of water challenges. They were kitted out in waterproof clothing and ready for the day to begin!

The rock scrambling was difficult and the children said that the ledges were easy to move along to begin with but became more difficult the higher they climbed. They enjoyed moving across the rocks like crabs!

The group were really brave and asked for adult help when they needed it. They did not give up and moved like crabs to reach their desired location.

Mrs. Cox received a massive surprise when the team member in front of her fell into a puddle and water exploded all over her!

Canoeing was an amazing experience with the confidence of the team in the water continuously growing. One of the team missed the boat when trying to climb in and so had a 'quick swim' before any paddles were even given out!

The team worked together to join their canoes and played the "Hokey Cokey" canoe style! This included making waves to knock each other out of the canoe as well as dipping their head into the water whilst singing the "Hokey Cokey!" This part of the blog is difficult to write due to the laughter whilst retelling this part of the day! The children adored being in the water and had a fantastic time.

At the end of the session, one canoe was kept out on the water whilst the rest were put away. Everybody in the team had a go at using the canoe as a slide into the water and they then worked as a team to help people back onto the canoe. The wellies full of water made this a heavy and difficult challenge! Well done for fantastic team work as everybody made it back to site for a warm shower.
